Scanstrut ATMOS air compressor

Scanstrut ATMOS integrated air station review

A built in 2 stage air station for all your watersports and inflatables.

After spending many months in hot climates with our 2 SUPs we found we were using them less than we thought due to the initial sweat fest of pumping them up and the time taken trying to get out for a quick paddle. Having the ATMOS installed allows us to easily inflate and deflate our boards without breaking a sweat! The system is extremely easy to use and can pump from 1-20 PSI.

To use the ATMOS you simply remove the black plastic sun cover which protects the buttons and display (ATMOS is also IPX6 waterproof front and back). Once the cover is removed you hold the power button to boot and then set your desired pressure in either PSI or Bar before confirming the selection and starting the pump. When ATMOS begins pumping it uses High-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) before moving to High-pressure, low-volume (HPLV). These 2 stages of the pump vary depending on what you have attached and the set PSI/Bar. Stage 1 only operates until 1 PSI is reached.

In the box with ATMOS you’ll find a 2.5m long hose and 6 different hose attachments which easily screw onto the end for different products (Boston Valve, C7 Valve, H3/HR Valve, Pinch Valves, and 805 Valve). Scanstrut also makes a 3.6m version of the hose which we also grabbed for use with kitesurfing kites. We like the longer hose option to ensure the kites are further away from the van whilst pumping so they don’t catch or snag on anything. For our SUPs, kayak and wing the standard 2.5m hose is perfect.

The Scanstrut ATMOS isn’t just good for inflating either, it has a secondary attachment which you can use to quickly deflate your products too. We’ll admit that the first few times we used the ATMOS to pump up our SUPs we just deflated them as we always have, which involves a mixture of rolling the boards and applying pressure to get the air out bit by bit. We then decided to try the deflate function and have used it every time since. It’s much more effective and makes light work of getting the air out of the boards and it’s also helped us to reduce the pack down size of the boards which is great for us when storing them in a campervan fulltime.

Whether you’re on a boat, or travelling overland in a campervan like us, if you love watersports then you’re also sure to love the ATMOS. You can find out some additional details on the link below, or check out our video walk through to see it in action.
